Join Us in Prayer

As Orthodox Christians, we recognize that prayer is an essential part of our daily lives that guides our actions. Through prayer we all have the power to be present with the prisoner.

Join the OCPM Prayer Group

Every first Wednesday of the month, our OCPM staff meets virtually to pray for those in prison. We warmly invite you and anyone you know to join us as we pray for our brothers and sisters in prison.

OCPM is included on The Encounter Orthodox prayer app by Faithtree Resources.

Not only can you read or listen to an audio recording of the “Prayer for Prisoners”, but we will also be regularly updating the intercessions listed under OCPM so you can be praying for our brothers and sisters in prison, by name, week after week.

A PRAYER FOR THOSE IN PRISON

We ask that you remember Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry, its staff, and all those we serve in your daily prayers.

Christ the Prisoner

Almighty God, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, come to the aid of those in prison and grant them Your peace in the midst of this difficult time in their lives. I believe Lord, that all of the trials of life are under Your care and that all things work for the good of those who love You. Take away from those in prison all fear, anxiety and distress. Help them to face and endure incarceration with faith, courage and wisdom. Grant that this trial may bring them closer to You for You are our rock and our refuge, our comfort and our hope, our delight and our joy. I trust in Your love and compassion. Blessed is Your name: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto the ages of ages.

Amen.
