Have you ever asked God: “Why am I here on this earth? What is it You want me to do with my life Lord?” Those are great questions to ponder. There can be various answers given to each individual, but there is one answer that is common to all of us.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Every Christian was created in Christ Jesus for good works. I am here on this earth to do good works. The Lord wants me to do good works.
Our vocations may be vastly different; the places we live may be vastly different. In fact, we may be vastly different from one another, yet we all share that same calling to do good.
This is not an easy calling for most of us. It can take great effort to do good when we do not feel like doing good. We may not want to do good to certain people. We may not want to do good when doing good might cost us more than our time. Sometimes doing good is just not convenient to what we have planned. We can simply get tired of doing good.
“But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.” (2 Thessalonians 3:13)
Saint Paul reminds us to not allow ourselves to “grow weary in doing good.” This is our high calling in Christ Jesus. It is why we are here on earth this day and it is what He wants us to do with our lives this day. The opportunities to do good are before us every day. May we be faithful to His calling today.
With you in the journey…
