Antiochian Orthodox Women of North America

What if every Orthodox parish came together to serve those in the prisons and jails of our own communities?

To be able to most effectively and sustainably serve the more than 1.8 million people in prison across the U.S, OCPM needs the support and involvement of our church partners.

There are many ways your church group can be involved in the work of OCPM.

Browse the options on this page and set up a free consultation with our staff to find the right path forward.

MAKE A DONATION

OCPM publishes and provides newsletters, spiritual books, icons, and catechisms courses at no cost to men and women in prison. $14 covers the cost of a year-long subscription to our monthly newsletter, The Journey, for one person in prison. $38 provides one package that includes icons, a prayer book, a church calendar, and other essentials needed to establish a prayer life while in prison.

SUFFER WITH YOU

Suffer with You is a collection of essays from people on various sides of the U.S. prison system, all approaching the theme of forgiveness. Foreward by Metropolitain Constantine of Denver. All proceeds support the work of OCPM.

Purchase for your church bookstore, your book club, or for yourself.

JOIN US IN PRAYER

Every first Wednesday of the month, our OCPM staff meets virtually to pray for those in prison. We warmly invite you and anyone you know to join us as we pray for our brothers and sisters in prison.

You can also find a regularly updated list of people in prison to pray for using The Encounter Prayer App.

POSTCARDS & LETTERS

Show those in prison they are not forgotten by sending cards or simple letters all year long.

There are lots of options, each with a step-by-step toolkit for your Philoptochos group to download and get involved right away.

ADVOCATE

Do you feel called to be a voice for prison ministry within your community? You can bridge the gap between your church and those in prison.

The OCPM Advocates support our mission by maintaining vital streams of communication between OCPM and your church, educating your community on volunteer and giving opportunities, and bringing at least one Advocate Initiative to your church every year.

Storybook Connections
You can reconnect people in prison with their children. Volunteers record parents reading a storybook. The recording, along with the book, is then sent to the child, who now has a tangible connection to their parent.

OCPM Learning Center
Access in-person and virtual training on prison ministry best practices, delivered by experts with decades of experience at every level of prison security.

"I am so very impressed with OCPM. I've been involved with different service ministries as a Protestant and Orthodox Christian. I don't think I have ever been so excited about a ministry as this one. The depth, organization, support, and training involved are better than any I have ever experienced."
